Nike Running Leggings Review

For the first time in my life, I’ve found myself wearing tights every time I run. I’d really prefer not to, especially when it’s 75 degrees with 85% humidity at 7 AM in the morning, but I wear them for a very functional purpose: to hold my phone.

Now that I use the Nike Run Club app to track my time and mileage, I obviously have to bring my phone with me. Before using the app, I wore a cheap digital watch to track my time. I really had no idea how long I was running. I love the app because it tells you a lot of information as you’re moving.

Why I Wear Running Leggings

To avoid the tight option, I’ve tried running and holding my phone, but it just didn’t feel right. I had a pair of the Nike Pro 3/4 basketball tights which featured a side thigh media pocket which held my phone perfectly, so I decided to give them a shot. I quickly learned to love how useful these tights were, and decided to buy two more pairs.

Now, I know, I could just buy an Apple watch, but they are expensive. Plus, the cheapest one, which is $200, only works with the Nike Run Club app if you bring your phone with you. So what’s the point? The next level model comes with GPS, but it will cost you $300, and I’m not paying that much.

I wish Nike would make more compression shorts with phone pockets, but the only one I found was a yoga style short. I may grab this one as well since they’re now on sale.

Overall, if you hate holding your phone when you run and are also too cheap to buy an Apple watch, I highly recommend going with the Nike running leggings. They are very breathable and functional.
